Barrel-Roofed House Going Up in Wellfleet

One of my land-only clients from earlier this year is building a very interesting, very energy efficient home off Lieutenant Island Rd. The new home will have a unique barrel shaped roof, not unlike one you might see on many modern church structures.  Additionally, this home will be certified as an Energy Star home when its done. Cool!

Check out this story in the Cape Codder: Energy Star house, under construction, sports a barrel roof.

New York Times - Recovery Signs Stir Hope

Today's New York Times ran an article that brings hope to those waiting for the real estate market to turn around. Might it be time to declare a 'bottom' and move on?

The article mentions that many think the $8,000 first time homebuyer credit is helping the turnaround. The National Association of Realtors (NAR) wants to expand the current credit, which expires in December, with a $15,000 credit for all buyers. This would be great for the Outer Cape market if it also included second homes.

Pricing your home for sale is an in-exact science. Not without it's pitfalls, both for the homeowner and for the Realtor. HGTV's FrontDoor.com website ran an article - "6 Pricing Mistakes and How to Avoid Them". Good advice, especially in today's market.

The good news is that the Outer Cape market seems to be improving, with a fair number of Buyers and a good inventory at all price ranges. Want details? - subscribe to my monthly newsletter...Here.

A Customer Letter - A Buyer

Wellfleet, Cape CodBob Sheldon helped us find our dream vacation home on the cape through what I can only describe as patience and perseverance. Bob was sensitive to our price range, showed us a full range of properties in the area we were interested in but most importantly counseled patience in sticking with the place we eventually bought. Since we bought a forclosed house, more went wrong than right in the process with the seller, but Bob stuck with us in making the deal happen. Because of his counsel and patience we got the house we were after.

It didn't stop there however. The house we ended up buying needed a tremendous amount of work. Bob gave us great recommendations for contractors and put us in touch with quality people of all variety who service houses on the cape. He stuck with us and helped it all come together. If you're looking for someone to find you a home on the cape, call Bob. :)
