Are We About To Dodge A Weather Bullet?

The weather for the next few days looks awful, especially for the Boston metropolitan area and western Massachusetts. It appears that the Cape, and the Outer Cape in particular, will be spared the worst of the upcoming storm, which appears to be ready to dump a foot or more of fresh snow, on top of the several feet already on the ground. Ugh!

Check out the weather map, below, on what is expected. Note that the Cape is largely spared.

So Close! - We Just Miss A Storm

We seem to have a storm every weekend, including this coming weekend. The good news is that we'll likely miss out on the snow, but we'll have the wind and the rain. Unfortunately, the rest of New England looks like it'll get quite a bit of the white stuff. Check out the map, below, courtesy of Weather.com.

Is It Inches or Feet?

The Cape seems to bring out the worst in weather-persons. Some say we're in for over a foot of snow - others say we're going to get just a little snow, followed by rain and higher temperatures. I guess I can't do any better, but my gut tells me it's somewhere in the middle. The chart below, from WHDH (channel 7) in Boston, shows that we'll get 5"-10" of snow.  The weather-persons are comparing the upcoming storm to the big storms of 1978 and 2003, which had snowfalls in excess of 27 inches. The first flakes have fallen and the storm is due here in the late morning. We'll see.

Another Mid-Week Storm - Really?

The weatherman is promising another mid-week storm this Tuesday into Wednesday. So far, the Outer Cape, including Eastham, has largely dodged these bullets. I'm sure glad that we have been spared the deep snowfalls of the I-95 corridor, including metro-Boston. Check out the map, below.

PS. I wish I was kidding!

It's Deja Vu - Midweek Snow Again!

It seems like we are on a bi-weekly snowstorm routine. This time it's coming tonight, into tomorrow and into Thursday. Check out the snowfall chart, below. Last time, the Outer Cape didn't get too much snow. Let's hope!

Our Next Storm - Ugh!

We are slated to get our next blast Tuesday night, into Wednesday morning. Check out this weather photo. Usually they are wrong about the Cape's snowfall numbers. we'll see.
