I'm not certain, but I'd say that the fall colors are at their peak here on the Outer Cape, Particularly stunning are the ponds with the reflection of the leaves on the water. The photo below was taken on the Cape Cod Rail Trail (aka the bike path) in Eastham. The photo doesn't quite show how bright the colors actually are.

Photo of the Day - Eastham Railroad Station
Well, it's really not a photo, rather it's a scan of an old post card. This is the Eastham railroad station. I'm pretty certain that the buildings span Samoset Rd where the current bike path (aka Cape Cod Rail Trail) crosses Samoset Rd. To the east of the trail lies a few old concrete piers that I believe supported the water tower on the post card.

Extreme Relay on the Cape
On May 1st and 2nd there is a relay race from Quincy to P-Town that is definitely not for the casual runner. The race is 202.7 miles and will be run as 36 legs, with teams of 6 or 12 runners, with each runner doing approximately 33 or 17 miles each, respectively. The event runs 'straight' through the night. Brutal! And, there are over 250 teams signed up.Read about his relay in "the Day" e-newspaper of New London, CT. The race will run through Eastham on the Cape Cod Rail Trail (aka the bike path) except to a 'break' onto Nauset Rd for the end of a leg. Check out the relay at http://www.13relay.com/.
