Edward Hopper's Cape Cod
The New York Times ran an article in its "Cultured Traveler" series highlighting the iconic artist's many years on the Outer Cape, which included an interactive "Then & Now" comparison between Hopper's paintings and recent photos. Hopper spent 40 summers on the Cape and painted many local scenes, including a few in Eastham. The Times article is HERE. Be sure to click on the "Then & Now" multimedia link in the left column. The picture here is Hopper's "House With Big Pine", painted in 1935 in Eastham. If you know the street address of this house, please email me at BobSheldon@remax.net.
