Outermost House Washes Away - Blizzard of 1978
Way back in 1978, 32 years ago next month, the most famous beach house, the Henry Beston's Outermost House, was washed off Coast Guard Beach by a ferocious storm, known as the Blizzard of '78. While the Outer Cape didn't receive a lot of snow, it was hammered by exceedingly high seas and wave overwash. Bob, I think you're off by about 1 month. The Blizzard of '78 occurred February 5‑7, 1978.
